What Is IG?

IG is a forex broker which invented spread betting in 1974 and now offers spread betting, options, CFDs and turbo24s. It is listed on the FTSE250.

The company has more than 45 years of history in the financial services sector and is based in Ireland. Remember there is a high risk of losing money as 75 percent of retail investor accounts lose money when trading spread bets and CFDs with this provider.

IG also specialises in Option trading. Options are derivatives which give you the right to buy or sell an asset at a certain price on a certain date. The most common type of option is the Vanilla option. Options are traded on forex pairs, indices, shares and commodities. Opening an account at IG is free.

IG Pricing

IG charges trade spreads from 0.4 points on the major FX pairs like EURUSD, one point on major indices like the FTSE 100 and 0.1 points on Spot Gold. Be careful to read the fine print because there are additional charges for keeping trades open overnight.

Education and Research
